This week, we have started with an introduction class in Illustrator.

Illustrator is a bit like photoshop except it uses vectors rather than pixels. it will be really useful when doing digital designs rather than hand illustrations.

I was excited to start learning to use this because after a while I got the hang of using photoshop and really enjoyed it in the end. I’m hoping to feel the same about illustrator.

We were given a booklet that had everything that we would need to know about. We started with the different shape buttons, my favourite was the star button as you could choose how many points you wanted to it. We also started to do straight lines and curves with the pen button. You could add more anchor points to the curves and do manipulate them but I couldn’t understand how to do it exactly, however I am going to practice at it and hopefully be more experienced for the next week lesson.
